The issue of gender inequality is ane which has been publiclyreverberating through alliance for decades. The problem of inequality inemployment being one(a) of the most pressing issues today. It will also tackle what is being through to solve this problem and whatcan be done to remedy the situation.The late 1960s brought on the first real indication that womens liberationist groupswere concerned with the education system in North America. The focus of thesefeminist groups captured the attention of teachers, pargonnts, and students. Atfirst the grounds for inequality in schooling was based on no more thanspecific case studies and anecdotal references to maintain their claims but asmore state began to show concern for the situation, more conclusive researchwas done to show that the claims of inequality were in fact sound and definitelyindicated a problem with the federal agency that schools were educating the future adultsof society. One of the problems which became observable was the fact that thepolicy-makers set a curriculum which, as shown specifically through textbooks,wa s male chauvinist and for the most part still is.Textbooks are one of the most important tools used in educating studentswhether they are elementary school storybooks or university medical textbooks.It is therefore no surprise that these books are or so of the most crucialinformation sources that a student has throughout their schooling. Many studieshave been done examining the contents of these books to publish the amount ofsexism displayed in these educational tools. The results all the way show thatgender inequality definitely runs rampant in textbooks some of the sexism subtleand some overt.
